So I think just a few :) of our regular readers have been waiting on us to post this wedding which took place Nov 7 in Los Angeles! So here it is --- our big send off before Christmas and the Holidays because this will be the last item we blog until the new year!...Watson-Studios will be slowing down from Dec. 21 - Dec. 28 but Dan and I will both be available by email.
We gave a sneak peek of this wedding a few weeks ago but some of you may need a little background info (here are their engagement pics). This awesome wedding took place on top of the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel (seriously 90210). And how did we end up doing this job? The bride (Robin) and I went to middle & high school together. Robin and Paul now live in L.A. Robin and I reconnected on Facebook last year and it has been SO FUN getting to know her again. Together Robin & Paul make a fun-tabulous couple, one I truly wish we could see more often.
To set the stage --- Robin being from Tennessee and Paul from New Jersey, they had a ton of out of town guests there to help them celebrate along with all of their L.A. friends --- everyone seemed to be truly on vacation and the whole weekend was just one big party.
Alright, on to the good stuff...
Just a little fun fact --- This makeup artist was on her way to give a certain MTV reality star a facial after she finished up with Robin :)
Paul is the nicest guy ever! and according to his brother, literally famous for his hair!
I loved everything about this wedding, just fyi.

COLOR!! Robin loves lots of color and it really showed in her wedding details. Each groomsmen wore a different color tie and the bridesmaids had different bouquets. All of the flowers were gorgeous and at the reception they had a colorful candy and cupcake bar ---Yum!!

I am posting a lot from the ceremony because it was beautiful and beautifully backlit :)
So everything took place on the rooftop and it was perfect L.A. weather -- sunny, warm, a touch windy and just gorgeous!
I love this - I think the two of them are having a little moment together up there and are about to bust out laughing over something.

And then there was probably really fun 80s music starting to play right about now, which made everything that much more happy and fun.

People were just kind of hanging out and enjoying the rooftop in different spots.

So then it was dark and the city lights were spectacular.
Then everyone started to come back up from the bar area....
...and started dancing. There was actually a dance-off between the New Jersey and Tennessee people.
Everyone was doing everything they could to win. I knew it was only a matter of time and at one point I actually said to Dan, "I bet you 50 bucks someone's going to be in the pool within the next 30 mins." I SWEAR 10 mins later...
A guy from Tennessee jumped in, then a guy from New Jersey and then about 15 other people after that! It was really funny :)
Things pretty much winded down after the pool party but this was one wedding reception we'll never forget! Thank you Paul & Robin you guys are the best!! And Merry Christmas everyone!! The End!

Thanks to Abby Larson of Style Me Pretty for featuring Tosha & Will's sweet wedding on one of our favorite wedding blogs today. Something we've always meant to do but can never seem to find the time for, is to submit our client's wedding stories to blogs. Since Tosha was a huge blog reader while she was engaged and told us that being featured on Style Me Pretty would "make my life" (she's cute like that) we decided to give it a go - and it worked! This is the wedding of Kerri and Blake --- an awesome couple we met just a few months ago. Kerri and Blake have a pretty cool story. They were boyfriend and girlfriend in fifth grade --- ha!! Then Blake moved away. They hadn't seen or talked to each other in years (years!) when Kerri decided to look him up on Facebook. They started talking and were very long distance at first - Kerri in Indiana and Blake in Florida! But it didn't take long for them to realize that they couldn't stay away from one another any longer and the love they shared was unique and totally meant to be.
So, here we are...weeks after their gorgeous wedding which took place at one of our personal favorite venues, The High Hampton Inn in Cashiers, NC. This is the second wedding we have photographed there, the first you may remember was Bunnie and Daniel's this past April (Part 1, Part 2). As I said after my first visit there, The High Hampton Inn is a gem!! Not only is it 'picture perfect' as far as scenery and all of the cute, rustic cabins, it's truly a place where guests can enjoy each other without distraction.
When we first sat down to edit this wedding we were looking at over 5,000 images of a beautiful couple, breathtaking location, peek fall leaves and fabulous weather to top if off. It seems like an astronomical task, whittling it all down to 30-50 images (for the blog/slideshow) that tell the story of one of the most important days in a couple's life. So anyways, here is our latest attempt in doing just that.

Exchanging of rings. I emailed Kerri to find our earlier what the other ring was since I noticed she had on two in the picture. One of course is her eng. ring, but on the right hand so Blake could get the band on the left. The other is her great grandmother's engagement and wedding ring. She said, "It's been passed down in our family since then and the oldest daughter, or only ;) gets it when she turns 16. I've worn it almost every day of my life since the day I turned 16...I just didn't want to take it off."

All around amazing images. A lot of photographers do SOME things well. You do EVERYTHING well. Love the sense of the space you get from the LA skyline. Fantastic scene setters, candids, lens flare (esp toast shot), tilts, emotion. I'm a fan!
