2013 – May our words be few but our pictures many! Here’s to a new year on the blog ;)
There might not be anything better than finding pretty light on a crisp January morning for a darling couple in love! Congratulations Elizabeth + Eric, we can’t wait for your wedding. xx
So far it’s been a wonderful year. We’ve got 9 more weddings to shoot before we say sayonara to 2012. All of our couples have been ah-mazing, but there’s really no surprise there… we’ve always had great clients.
What’s been exciting this year is that it feels like every one of our weddings has been different from the last. We’ve done big, small, fancy, super laid back… a really good mix. We’ve been home, we’ve been 3 hours away, 6 hours away, we’re about to make our third trip out West!! — I love them all. It’s always the hugest honor to be a part of someone’s big day. So far we’ve had just enough time to blog every wedding up until this point and I’m hoping to keep that up. We sadly have not been able to post all of our portrait sessions, not because we don’t want to, but because there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. We will try to get some up soon though… :)

It’s a major bummer we’re not shooting this next couple’s wedding… because they are getting married in Ireland!… and how I must one day go to Ireland! They have already booked another photographer who lives where they are getting married in Ireland (and how sensible ridiculous is that! ;)).
I can hardly look at the pictures below without feeling a little tang of, “Maybe if only I’d asked where they were getting married when they booked their engagement shoot, Maybe it would have been us (sigh).”
Which brings about our next point. If you or anyone you know loves our photography and is going somewhere fabulous for a destination wedding don’t be afraid to contact us :). Dan and I are always on the lookout for a good excuse to go somewhere great and sometimes I believe people think it would be silly or cost too much or that it’s just too much to ask. Trust me, we’d love to toss around the idea. It might not always work and it sometimes might just not make sense, but then again it might! So we’re putting it out there, we love to go to amazing places and we’d love to help make it all happen for your wedding.
—-So if you’re getting married in a tropical location this winter, possibly Jamaica, and need a photographer, call me, soon, my bags are already half-way packed ;).
Here are some places we would love to shoot a wedding next year or in the next couple of years: Montana, Wyoming, California, Lake Tahoe, Maine, Ireland, France, Italy, GREECE, Spain and of course anywhere tropical. (I mean really, who wouldn’t, right;))
We LOVE the opportunity to be somewhere cool when it’s summer and somewhere warm when it’s winter.
We LOVE shooting in places that are ‘different’ but closer to our home base like Asheville, Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, anywhere in Western North Carolina (my fav), Virginia, Lexington Kentucky, Charlotte and of course Atlanta! We love the little-known places in between that sometimes have the greatest wedding venues like Cashiers, Highlands, Banner Elk, Linville, Palmetto!
We’d love to book some weddings in Naples, Florida every winter and early spring and also a few weddings every year in March/early April in places like Charleston, Savannah, Pawley’s Island, Hilton Head because their wedding seasons start earlier than ours and it’s an amazing time of year there.
All right, we’ve put it out there and we’d love to make every bit of it come true! Please tell all your friends and all of their friends, that if they’re getting married any place nice (including Knoxville, TN!), call Natalie & Dan. Passports are ready! ;)

Here’s a little something for the weekend crowd. Last fall we had the opportunity to photograph this lovely, adorable, nice-as-can-be couple. Although we were booked for their wedding, which I believe was a few weeks ago (congrats guys!!), but we were able to do their engagement shoot in Western North Carolina, our home away from home. Brett popped the question under the huge tree below so hence the perfect location for their engagement pics! April and Brett were so great to work with!! I hope they had the best wedding!! Happy Sunday!
Happy Thursday blog world! It’s just waaaay too nice to be inside staring at a computer this afternoon so I’m going to go get my baby, and my other baby (aka Dan :)) and go for a boat ride! I think some outside inspiration is in order!
