We’re back from our winter slum with a beautiful Dara’s Garden wedding. When the weather starts getting warmer and the flowers begin to bloom, you know it’s wedding season in Tennessee. What better way to kick off the spring wedding season than with a garden wedding in East Tennessee. This Knoxville wedding features a ceremony at Dara’s Garden and a reception at Gettysvue Country Club. It also features a couple that I can’t say enough positive things about. Brandon and Sarah met and live in Charlotte, North Carolina. They decided to have their wedding in Knoxville because Brandon grew up there and most of his family still lives in the area. Brandon and Sarah wanted a small wedding. Well, actually they were so anxious to get married they said they wanted to “run to the courthouse!”
However, to keep everyone happy (and to throw themselves a party) they decided on a beautiful ceremony at Dara’s Garden and a reception at Gettysvue Country Club. In addition to these two fantastic knoxville wedding venues, a number of other great vendors helped make this event possible. This intimate Dara’s Garden wedding was officiated by Celebrations by Celeste. Art of Cakes provided the beautiful wedding cake, Lisa Foster Floral Designs created the stunning florals, and Southern Belle Beauty provided the perfect makeup and hair. Sarah purchased her Theia wedding dress from Ladies of Lineage in Charlotte, and the bridesmaids dress is from Poffie Girls. Brandon’s suit was from TheBlackTux.com.
It was such a pleasure being a part of this wedding. Sarah, Brandon and their families made me feel so welcome, which always makes this amazing job I have that much better. I can’t thank them enough giving me the opportunity to photograph this momentous day for them. Thanks for checking out the blog! We’ll have more wedding photography to share this year from Nashville, Knoxville, Florida and beyond. So, please stay tuned!
I can’t wait to share this beautiful Houston Station wedding with you. Photographing this wedding was an honor in so many ways. First, both Rebecca and David are officers in the Army. David is a Black Hawk pilot and Rebecca is an Clinical Psychologist. So, basically a couple of bad asses. Not convinced? Guess where they met. Nope. Afghanistan (mic drop).
Rebecca says it was not a place they were looking for love, but it was a great place to really get to know people for who they really are. After Rebecca and David spent time together, it was clear there was something more to their friendship. Their similar values, their shared love of country and the Army, and their incredible circumstances brought them together and they fell in love. I was thrilled when they asked me to be their photographer for their engagement session and wedding. I haven’t posted their engagement session yet, but I loved that shoot and will post images from there sometime this winter.
Rebecca and David wanted an intimate and rustic feel accented with rich tones that were lit by lanterns, candles and string lights. To achieve this, Houston Station was the perfect wedding venue with it’s heavy timber beams, hardwood floors, and exposed brick. Events Nashville coordinated and styled this wedding and did an incredible job bringing the bride and groom’s vision to life. The gorgeous flowers were done by Enchanted Florist. Bacon and Caviar, considered by many local Nashvillians to be the best BBQ in town, provided the catering. They also provided the unique pie, cobbler, and cheese dessert station. JDs Music kept the party going late into the night. Rebecca looked gorgeous on her wedding day in her Callie Tein dress that she got from Modern Trousseau in Nashville. Katie Russo Beauty did an amazing job on the girls’ hair and makeup. I loved photographing this wedding and was honored to play a role in this momentous day for Rebecca and David. They are an incredible couple and it was so great to work with them. Here are a few photos from their momentous day. I hope you enjoy them!
