I traveled to Los Angeles, California to photograph this next amazing couple and their beautiful wedding. Anytime I get a chance to go to the west coast for a wedding, I’m gonna take it! So, I was totally thrilled when Alex and Walt asked me to photograph their wedding at The Loft on Pine in Long Beach, CA. As a destination wedding photographer, one of my favorite aspects of the job is getting to travel to new places, make new friends, and photograph beautiful spaces at amazing new wedding venues I’ve never worked at before. The Loft on Pine is a perfect venue for weddings and getting to work with their amazing staff as well the entire team for this wedding, with planning by Kelsey Events and flowers by Bloom Box Designs it couldn’t have been any better.
With every wedding, there is something that doesn’t go according to plan and Alex and Walt’s wedding was no exception. When it came time to get the dress on there was a slight wardrobe malfunction which could have been a tense moment for anyone.
Luckily, Alex is super laid back and kept her cool the entire time while her resourceful bridesmaids fixed the problem.
The girls came through in the end and the entire wedding went off without a hitch.
Plus, Alex’s wedding dress was definitely mom approved!
This next post was my first wedding for 2015 and it was the perfect way to start the year! We have an incredible lineup of weddings this year that I will be blogging as often as possible (I’ll still be going back to blog more favorites from last year as well, so keep an eye out). To begin the year, I was fortunate to have another opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort on Marco Island in Southwest Florida.
Mollie and Kyle were so wonderful to work with. Mollie had a great vision for what she wanted for her guests at this destination wedding and she was a stunning bride. Kyle was a blast in front of the camera as you’ll see below and everyone had an amazing time. Thank you so much for having me as your photographer and sharing your wedding photos!
I’m really excited to share this beautiful destination wedding I shot last year in Florida! Kristin and Rob are from the New York – New Jersey area where I lived for several years, so I immediately felt like were friends and loved working with them. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Marco Beach Ocean Resort on Marco Island in southwest Florida just a few miles from Naples, FL. Kristin and Rob wanted an intimate destination wedding on the beach, so their family and friends could spend several days together enjoying huge beaches and perfect weather. Marco Beach Ocean Resort has so many great spots for photography. Here are just a few favorites from the wedding.
I thought in this post it would be good to point out that all of our images are captured in color and can be delivered in both black and white and color. I am a huge fan of black and white photography, especially when it comes to weddings. I think the timeless and elegant look of black and white photographs is perfectly suited for everything having to do with brides, grooms, and weddings. Sometimes it’s really hard to choose which one to use, like in the image below.
For this image of Kristin in her wedding dress, I think I like the black and white just a little more. There was perfect lighting for that shot and it gave the black and white a silver-y look that I love.
We’re getting ready to start the 2015 wedding season by blogging some of our favorite weddings from 2014. Our first photos to share are from Brigitte and Terry’s gorgeous wedding at Pleasant Hill Vineyards in Maryville, TN. We got to work with a wonderful team of wedding vendors for Brigitte and Terry’s wedding. We are always especially excited when we get to work the incredibly talented and dedicated wedding stylist and planner Jennifer Laraia. Jenn did an amazing job bringing Brigitte’s vision to life with incredible tablescapes and details. We also always love working with Whimsical Gatherings. Their floral designs are breathtaking, especially for this elegant outdoor wedding. Brigitte and Terry love the outdoors and had a wedding style that emphasized their shared interests. Their ceremony took place in a grove of trees at Pleasant Hill Vineyards, which was the first time I had shot a wedding in a forest, so it was so exciting and beautiful!!. That, along with the wonderful couple and amazing wedding details by Jennifer Laraia and Whimsical Gatherings, made this wedding one of my favorites of the year. In addition to that great team, there was a number of fantastic wedding vendors making the event a success, including Special Notes Entertainment, Bangs and Blush, Northshore Brasserie, and All Occasions. We were so honored to be the wedding photographers for this beautiful East Tennessee wedding.
This year has been filled with incredible weddings and travels that I can’t wait to share. One of the biggest highlights we are finally able to share is that we had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of actor Matthew Morrison (Glee) and model/actress Renee Puente at a private estate in Kihei on the island of Maui in Hawaii. It was an amazing experience in a breathtaking place. It’s so exciting to see the photos featured in People Magazine and we look forward to seeing the wedding featured in Martha Stewart Weddings in a few months!!
We had the privilege of shooting so many wonderful weddings in 2013, but I really can’t say enough about this one in particular. Blake and Brad’s wedding took place at Blake’s childhood church, Fountain City First Baptist. We took all of the photos before the ceremony at RT Lodge, which was also the location for the reception. It was an amazing day and we hope you enjoy this glimpse of their beautiful wedding!
Venue and Catering: RT Lodge / Ceremony: Fountain City Baptist Church / Flowers: Lisa Foster, Jennifer Capps and Kim Scarbrough / Cake: Sweet Beginnings by Elaine / Invitations: Weddings, etc. / Band: Soul Connection / Videographer: Silverleaf Cinemas / Hair: Vibe Salon, Emily Quinton / Makeup: Lynn Bibee / Dress Designer: Martina Liana / Dress Store: Ivory and White
Between Blake and her Mom, Aunt, Dad, and best friends there was a roller coaster of every emotion. They laughed, they cried, and they were nervous. It was a beautiful mess! We love these types of moments- especially when we get the opportunity to capture them on camera.
