Without further adieu ----- (and believe me I'm fearing of another power outage any second because we've not had power for seven out of the last ten days due to the recent storms) ---- here is the third, but not final, installment of Paige & John's drop dead gorgeous, jaw dropping wedding at Blackberry Farm :)... Picture this:

A crystal clear spring day in the mountains, pre-May... Gorgeous scenery, darling couple.... ah-mazing venue. Just showing up to a scene like this on wedding day makes our hearts go pitter patter :). And to think, we were so busy the day of the wedding we didn't even see the ceremony site decked out until right before guests were being seated. It was so beautiful I literallly got chills!
But this is not really what this post is about. Scroll down...

This is :).
The heart and soul of every wedding is the ceremony...
In planning my own wedding I didn't think to much about the ceremony. I thought it was going to be pretty standard and put way more thought and effort into every other aspect of the day. That was foolish because it turned out to be the best part of the whole day. I will never, ever forget the way Dan was looking at me when we were standing up there together. It was like we were the only two people on earth and just remembering his face during those moments could seriously make me smile for a lifetime. Ahh...
So, no matter how good and potentially publishable the venue/scenery/details/flowers are, Dan and I are most importantly there to capture those amazing moments leading up to, during, and after those intense moments when a couple is making those sacred commitments. These little slices of life are gone in the blink of an eye... and my advice to any bride is to not be too busy to have them.
This post is all about, as we call them, 'the candid moments.' And I happen to usually like these moments in black and white. To me, looking back on these moments should feel nostalgic, classic. These moments are void of any trend, or style.... or color. They are about the moment - about real life as it happens, on the most important day of a couple's life together.
One of the things I most love about our business is that Dan and I get to work together. Of course, we love that we get to be together every day. But, it is also a HUGE plus from a photography standpoint to have two photographers covering a wedding ceremony. So much is happening at any wedding, it is impossible for one person to capture it all. By having two principal photographers shooting all day, we are able to do so much more and do it so much better than we ever could on our own. And hopefully the result is tons of candid moments captured forever.
So here we go, a post all about the candid moments :) Enjoy!
Below Paige and her Dad are just moments away from the ceremony, watching everyone coming in, waiting for everyone to be seated, peaking through the curtains and talking about what they see...getting excited.

Spontaneous kiss.

A bridesmaid makes her way down the aisle.

More peeking, a little nervousness... Seeing John.

A father looks a man in his eyes.

A hug.

A tear and a smile.

Vows.

A laugh and applause.

More smiles, a kiss, and celebration.

If you've been following our blog for a while, you know that watching the couple walk the aisle together after the ceremony is one of our absolute favorite parts of the day (and favorite photos of the day). PS - I love Paige's dad looking at her mom in the background ;)

Shortly after the ceremony we walked down the hill to this swing with the wedding party -- I think these are so fun!

I love the look on her face in this one -- so fun!!
The end for today!

Below is the start of the day from our very first wedding of the season. It's one of our all time favorites and we're doing multiple posts because there is just so, so much we want to share from Paige and John's wedding at Blackberry Farm. One of the reason's there is so much gorgeousness to share is because we had our dear friend and amazing photographer Ashley, of Ashley Hoskins Photography to come shoot with us! The three of us combined were in, as my mom would say, "hog-heaven"... and maybe had a little too much fun because we shot over 7,000 (!!!) images on this gorgeous day! And let me tell you, whew, that was a job to edit down (thankgoodness for Dan)... and even harder to decide what to blog so hence the multiple posts :)
This first part from the actual wedding day is a combination of details, getting ready, and portraits leading up to the ceremony. The next will be the ceremony and candid moments around the ceremony and then... who knows, I haven't decided. This is so much fun!! Here ya go! Happy Monday!!! (My favorite day of the week! Seriously! :):)

I love anyone with the middle name Texas... :)

I want these on my feet!

I'm making a cameo on the left ;)

Paige is reading a letter from John, so sweet!

Putting on the dress

Paige is so stunning and I'm loving the bridesmaid dresses above.

Gasp....
Definitely one of my favorites from the whole day!

Just look at these bridesmaids bouquets!! LOVE!! Paige and John had vendors from all over the country! The hair and makeup people came in from Chicago. The florist and musicians were from NYC, the cake and wedding planner from Raleigh. In the last post I'll include all of their names and links. Gosh the flowers were amazing!

Love this groom, so much personality... I wish you all could hear the speach he gave at the reception. What a guy!

Before the ceremony we spent some time shooting The Barn, the building where the reception was held. The light in there was just right for these beautful center pieces and place settings.

I love the plates at BBF they were drawn by the gardener, I believe :)

I told you...amazing...

That's all for now, but I'll leave you with one more, sweet, sweet Paige.
Next up will be the ceremony!!

Our first wedding of the year was soooo amazing, we're going to have to deliver it to you in multiple posts! We're starting off the season with the rehearsal dinner of one of the most amazing, charismatic, and beautiful couples we've ever had the pleasure of working with! Paige and John live in Chicago and decided on a destination wedding right in our backyard... The rustic, elegant and charming Blackberry Farm, a world-famous resort in the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
Now, if there's one thing we love almost as much as an outdoor wedding, it's an outdoor rehearsal dinner! Amid strings of lights, streams and ponds, beautiful pastures of llamas and horses, and the honeysuckle (oh the honeysuckle!), there is just toooo much to love about Paige & John's Tennessee barbecue rehearsal dinner. Aside from the marriage, the most special thing about a wedding (in our opinion) is that it's one of the few occasions in life when you get to have all of the people who you love and who love you in one place, celebrating together. Rehearsal dinners are an intimate and special part of that whole experience and we love to help couples create a visual record of that special event. So here is part one of who knows how many posts on Paige & John's fun and dreamy wedding weekend!
Enjoy!!

Paige & John :) I just *love* this couple!
Rehearsal dinners = a great opportunity to get cute shots of those you love the most!

Marion Hannifin says:
If I had any boys and had a rehearsal dinner I would definitley have a professional photographer(Watson's of course).......and maybe should have done it as the mother of the bride. Beautiful!!
