Katie and Johan had an intimate wedding of about 70 guests, all of which took place at their friends' amazing residence on top of a mountain in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. From the moment we arrived I knew that it was going to be an amazing day. The weather was gorgeous, there was music playing all over the house, people were eating and drinking, and the whole atmosphere was just very light and laid back --- my kind of wedding day :). Katie had a maid of honor (her sister) and Johan had a best man. The ceremony took place in a garden area outdoors that was prefectly backlit throughout the entire ceremony. It was just one of those days where you feel truly blessed to be a wedding photographer in East Tennessee!
After the ceremony guests enjoyed a cocktail hour out on the lawn and the light was just amazing. Later, everyone went into the tent for dinner. Johan (although he now lives in Knoxville) is Danish, so as is tradition in Danish culture (and many European cultures) there were a lot of speeches by many of the guests and they were all great!! I swear I think I was laughing behind my camera the whole time. The most amazing part was that in hearing everyone talk, and as the hostess pointed it out, there were people in attendance from all over the world at their wedding - truly amazing.
Here are some of our favorite wedding photos of the day - Enjoy!

I think this is my favorite picture of Katie. Her eyes are just amazing!!

And now the rest of Katie's gorgeous family you might remember from their engagement shoot. A windblown Silvia, Johan's three year old daughter, and the handsome groom himself!

I just wanted to show the back of Katie's dress. I loved, loved her dress.

This is Dan's favorite picture of Katie

The light was just perfect as we were taking these so it took no time at all. What easy subjects!?

Possibly my favorite pics of the day

Katie's flowers and cake & cupcakes were gorgeous! (See vendor list at the bottom of this post)

This is a shot from that beautiful cocktail hour.

Third -- Get ready for a super cute engagement session with Janie & Kendal. If you saw us on Channel 10 you probably noticed our ridiculously cute models. Here they are and this time it's for real! For their engagement shoot we decided to go up to Townsend because we were looking for an old country road for the tandem bike they were bringing. Dan and I got up there a little early to find a good spot and we did... We were driving down this road and saw this awesome piece of property with a little dirt road, hills and an old barn. Best yet, the owners were standing right outside and said yeah sure we could walk all over it
P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!
So here are few of our favorites!
This is probably my number 1 favorite! It looks like a great classic in black & white but for some reason I like it better in color on this blog -- go figure!

The bike was so much fun. Poor Kendal had to push that thing all over the place!

I heart everything about this shoot

Oh I love the little face on Kendal in this one!

Umm, yeah, she's a living doll!

Janie & Kendal we had a great time with you guys and wish you ALL THE BEST!!!

We're on now to the third and final piece of Bailee & Reggie's three part engagement extravaganza. In under two hours Dan and I photographed three engagement sets for Bailee & Reggie - they had vintage, contemporary & country scenes. This last set is definitely my favorite!! It was at that magic time of day just before the sun sets, where everything is glowing and gorgeous! I remember looking at this scene and thinking, "This is awesome and we have about 12 minutes before that sun goes down!" But since this was the last set Bailee & Reggie were all warmed up in front of the camera and it was all really easy. Their country scene was made complete with a 1950s Chevrolet truck, vintage suitcases, picnic basket, and gorgeous Tennessee sunset!

Congrats Bailee and Reggie for doing such a great job with your shoot (and wow, Reggie what a great guy you are for putting up with all of this!) Now for everyone else --- don't feel pressured to go this far with your shoot if it's not your thing. We are so glad that all of our clients are different. For some people this is a great creative outlet and super fun thing to plan for --- and of course we love it.... we also love our super laid back clients just as much :)
Hope everyone has had a great Monday & enjoy!

I LOVE this one

Their dog was hilarious!

Love the sweet way she is looking at him

Possibly my favorite
