This is the wedding of Kerri and Blake --- an awesome couple we met just a few months ago. Kerri and Blake have a pretty cool story. They were boyfriend and girlfriend in fifth grade --- ha!! Then Blake moved away. They hadn't seen or talked to each other in years (years!) when Kerri decided to look him up on Facebook. They started talking and were very long distance at first - Kerri in Indiana and Blake in Florida! But it didn't take long for them to realize that they couldn't stay away from one another any longer and the love they shared was unique and totally meant to be.
So, here we are...weeks after their gorgeous wedding which took place at one of our personal favorite venues, The High Hampton Inn in Cashiers, NC. This is the second wedding we have photographed there, the first you may remember was Bunnie and Daniel's this past April (Part 1, Part 2). As I said after my first visit there, The High Hampton Inn is a gem!! Not only is it 'picture perfect' as far as scenery and all of the cute, rustic cabins, it's truly a place where guests can enjoy each other without distraction.
When we first sat down to edit this wedding we were looking at over 5,000 images of a beautiful couple, breathtaking location, peek fall leaves and fabulous weather to top if off. It seems like an astronomical task, whittling it all down to 30-50 images (for the blog/slideshow) that tell the story of one of the most important days in a couple's life. So anyways, here is our latest attempt in doing just that.
Here are a few location shots to set the stage.

This is the view from the ceremony site.

Kerri had 9 bridesmaids, Blake has 2 groomsmen :) --- I love it!! So naturally, the girls got most of the attention.

A sweet, sweet group of girls...

Our handsome groom - I just love this shot of him.

This starts the ceremony

Here is Kerri with her mom and dad coming down the aisle...

...and this is Blake's reaction!

Priceless.

It was windy!!

Exchanging of rings. I emailed Kerri to find our earlier what the other ring was since I noticed she had on two in the picture. One of course is her eng. ring, but on the right hand so Blake could get the band on the left. The other is her great grandmother's engagement and wedding ring. She said, "It's been passed down in our family since then and the oldest daughter, or only ;) gets it when she turns 16. I've worn it almost every day of my life since the day I turned 16...I just didn't want to take it off."
:)

This one gives me chills!

Their first dance was great!

A little father-daughter dancing.

I did not suspect cake smashing, but I must confess I was not 100% sure. Kerri looks like she wasn't 100% sure what he was going to do either. I think that's the 'don't do it' eye :)

Ta-da! The end!! xoxo Kerri & Blake and thank you!!

If this garter looks like it's been to a few weddings, well it has! I just wanted to quickly share this thing THAT I LOVE from the amazing wedding we're currently working on... And I know my girlfriends are going to flip out over this...one in particular -- Michelle this is for you ;).
So here's the story - this garter belongs to a spunky, hilarious group of girlfriends and every time one of them gets married, a charm is sewn onto it with their initials, it's worn and then passed on to the next girl. The charms go all the way around and it's just. fabulous!
I love it when friendships are treated with such importance -- I LOVE IT!!!

Last month we got the pleasure of working with Laurel and Oliver on their wedding day. Laurel and Oliver both live in Seattle but decided that Knoxville was a good 'meet in the middle' location as all of Oliver's people would be coming from Germany & Switzerland! (Well that and Laurel's sweet little sister lives here). With so many out-of-towners, their wedding was a huge celebration of people from all over the world and was so wonderful to see these families blend together right before our eyes. The ceremony was at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, followed by a beautiful reception at Club LeConte. Here are a few of our favorite pics from the day.

Maybe my favorite shoes picture ever...

Laurel was just glowing!

First look!

Laurel and Oliver make such a cute couple!

Is it me or does this one have some attitude!?

Groomsmen. I love this pic!

Bridesmaids :)

These are quite possibly the cutest flower girls ever. They are Oliver's nieces and are from Germany (I think). They didn't speak much English and so their mom had to translated for us while we taking their pics --- they just smiled and giggled -- too cute!

Church of the Ascension is so pretty!

And groomsmen are just... so fun and easy-going.

A shot from the ceremony. Shot from the balcony with no flash. It's important to note that some churches, like this one, have photography restrictions in which no flash (as in this case), or sometimes no photography, is allowed. Either way were happy to work with it and do what we can!

Always my fav. part of the day :)

I believe this is a German tradition - they cut a white ribbon before they got into the car to go the reception.

I am a total sucker for a good getaway car pick. If I find out you're gonna have a cool car like this for your wedding, expect me to beg you to let me jump in there with you for something like this...

Laurel and her planner Sarah Carroll did such a great job with all of the details. Everything looked beautiful! They had a candy bar at the end of the night with all different types of white-colored candies in pretty glass jars - loved it!

Sarah also made this super-cute kids table on the left. They had all kinds of things to do and by the end of the night had demolished that candy centerpiece :)

Laurel & Oliver definitely knew what they were doing on the dance floor!

On the left is another German tradition - on the right, the previously mentioned center-piece meeting it's demise :)

Their band Entice was awesome! And so was the view! The end!! Thanks Laurel and Oliver for letting us be a part of your beautiful day! We wish you all the best!
