We've been waiting for a perfect snowy day to post this little gem of an engagement shoot but since it's felt like spring for the last 3 weeks we starting to feel like it's now or never!! Meet Rachel and Cody, one of our 2011 couples who we love, love, love! I get a little smile inside every time I think of these two and when I look at these photos I can't help but think of Rachel's cute little accent or the funny story of their engagement... (which involves the 'accidental' discovery of said engagement ring by bride-to-be while 'deep cleaning'... and might be my all time favorite engagement story!). Their fun winter engagement shoot couldn't have happened on a better day. There was a little snow on the ground and the light was really soft and great. Although it was pretty darn cold outside these two should both be receiving academy's awards for pulling off warm smiles and laughs -- they did such a great job!

Enjoy!!

I love this one so soft and sweet!

I always have to take a picture like this for some reason. One day I'm going to do something with all of them... who knows what.

The end! I was thinking about an old photo of Dan's grandparents we have in our downstairs bathroom that inspired me while doing this shoot. I love it because they're so young... and the snow & sled. It remind me of the one of Cody & Rachel above against the barn, third from the top. Here it is :)

Any way you could find out where she bought that coat? I've been looking for a perfect red coat all winter with no luck and now I'm dying for that one!!

Kitty has a new home!! :)) Yay!! Shanna, one of our 2011 brides, is his new momma and we're sooo excited for them! Bye, bye sweet kitty (see he's waving at me) -- I'll miss you!!

Two nights ago at midnight Dan was taking out the trash and I heard him kind of jump a little and then he said "Whoa, there's a cat!"... On closer look, not a cat, a teeny, tiny, sweet-as-can-be kitten just appeared at our back door - and we have a fenced in backyard! Now I'm pretty convinced it's fate that brought this kitten to our back door -- but Dan thinks it's fate for us to find this little kitten a good home somewhere else (husbands!).  And really, I agree.  We already have an old dog and a self-absorbed super cat. And, with a baby on the way, it's just not going to happen.

I'm getting awfully attached but we need to find this kitten a good home and I mean GOOD!  We could take it out to our farm to be a 'Barn Cat' but I can tell this little kitten is just waaayyy too sweet and way too much of a people cat. It would make a great family cat. This kitten (in my professional cat owner experience :)) is a really, really special cat. It purrs all the time, sleeps a lot and just wants me to hold it all day long. The kitten even lets me wrap it up in a blanket and carry it around like a baby!! It just sits on my lap while I work on the computer and purrs & it used the liter box right away! We're not sure if it's a boy or girl, though we're thinking boy and we don't know how old it is, maybe 5 or 6 weeks. So if you or anyone you know would love to have this sweet kitten please email us pronto!

Now how can you resist this sweet face!?! I'll be so sad to see him go!!

As promised in previous posts, I am going to continue blogging some of the amazing couples we got to work with this past fall.  We were so busy the past few months, we had to put off posting a lot of the work until now. So, hopefully this warm up your winter day. The fall is one of the best times to shoot and we did a lot of memorable shoots and this is definitely one of them!!

Meet Meagan and Seth. We met Meaghan and Seth... well, on this engagement shoot :)  They are from Kentucky and are getting married this June. They booked us over the phone which is pretty typical of couples who live further away. We work with out of town couples all the time and it is always fun to meet them if we haven't already and we always love going new places for weddings.  For this engagement shoot, we actually stayed close to home and shot at one of our absolute favorite locations that many of you may know if you follow our blog... my mom's farm.  The fall is probably my favorite time out there, the tall grass and warm colors are just beautiful for engagement shoots!!

Enjoy!

This picture has been cracking me up! Meet, Colin their adorable puppy! He's like "Hey! What's going on up there!"

Seth was always so sweet to Meaghan while we were shooting. I just love that! And I'm sorry, but that dog could not be any cuter!
