The morning after our previous post, Erika and Jeff's wedding, Dan and I woke up early in beautiful Banner Elk, NC for Lisa and Ben's engagement shoot. Most of the time we do engagement shoots in the evening but because of everyone's schedule, this was a sunrise shoot and we love the results!

We couldn't be more stoked about Lisa & Ben's wedding next June. They are getting married at the camp at Eseeola Lodge, an ideal location for a wedding. There is a beautiful view of Grandfather Mountain, a small lake with a cute boathouse, and a huge open-air pavilion -- it is fantastic! I've always wanted to shoot a wedding there and we're soooo excited.

Here are a few of our favorites from their engagement shoot:
This was in a field right behind our hotel and I think this might be my favorite!

I love this cute look on Lisa's face

Then Ben had a great idea... he took us to this spot on Beech Mountain and as soon as we arrived, I was in heaven! The property is an entire ridge, probably over 100 acres, and all of it has this amazing view - which is even better in real life. If I had all the money in the world and could convince Dan to buy the side of a mountain this would be it! All of my girlfriends and their husbands would build houses up here and most days we'd never leave home. We'd just sit on our porches and drink coffee all day and it would be fabulous...

This might be my favorite too.

Dan loves this one...

Definitely a favorite

Love these next 3

Lisa is beautiful and has the sweetest eyes!

The end!!

I promised myself I would get this up before I went to sleep tonight and it's getting really late so this one might be short, text-wise... but you guys could probably use a break from my babbling anyways:) The good news is that I've got tons of pictures I want to share from Erika and Jeff's wedding in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

But first, I have to preface Erika and Jeff's wedding story by telling you about their two amazing daughters, Reagan and Mckenzie. Reagan is Erika's daughter and Mckenzie is Jeff's. They are BFFs and yes, they 'Parent-Trapped' this whole shebang :)

The whole wedding had a strong family feel to it. For example, they had fish swimming around in tall glass centerpieces and the kids got to take them home at the end -- now how cute is that?!

I don't think anyone could top the amount of fun Reagan and Mckenzie had at their mom and dad's wedding. They had manicures, their hair & makeup done, AND they all got diamond rings!!

Gorgeous Erika!

We love this one of Jeff watching Erika come down the aisle.

And, we really love this of everyone watching Erika!

We were able to get close during the ceremony, which really paid off!

Oops rewind a bit, I almost forgot the instigators :)

Back to the ceremony,

and kiss!

I love the looks on the girls' faces in this one :)

Very proud of those rings :)

Love that sweet face on Erika

Dan's favorite

Jeff is pretty darn cute.

Erika said one of the main reasons she decided to get married at Jeff's parents house was because she liked this tree. Thinking back, it seemed like she based all of her details on the tree. They all had a modern, circular look, even the girls' polka dot dresses... Hmmmm, pretty good for someone who planned their wedding in one month!

A happy wedding party.

Maybe my favorite father-daughter dance picture we've done to date:

Reagan and Mckenzie had to steal a dance also. I love this little candid.

The End! Congrats Erika and Jeff!! You guys were so awesome! Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your special day!!

PS: Just wait until they start dating = T-R-O-U-B-L-E. I bet they're already planning their weddings...

This is only the second senior portrait session Dan and I have ever done together (the first was Lauren) and it was SO MUCH FUN! We really loved it and want to do more! Part of the reason it was so fun was Macy was such an awesome girl to work with. We first met Macy when we spoke to her high school photography class earlier this year... Isn't she such a doll!?Ahhhh, to be young again!

*Erika and Jeff ---- you are next!!
Here are a few of our faves:

Doesn't the Old City look extra cool in this pic -- I think it's the bike we borrowed from someone at Java.

Macy brought along her new puppy, Harlow, who also turned out to be an adorable prop for the shoot.

I thought her little nose scrunch was just too cute :)

Not only is Macy pretty, she can jump too :)

and cartwheel! AND text about a 1,000 words per minute (I've seen it first hand)!!

Get it, Class of 2010? Thanks Macy!! Hope you have a great senior year!!
