Wow! What an incredible month this has been ---- wonderful couples, beautiful weddings, crazy weather, and fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants wedding day events! We've got tons of wedding and engagement photos to blog in the next few weeks so let's get started on a wedding that encompasses all of the things I just mentioned, the wedding of Brittany Baker and Ben Cudzilo!
Brittany and Ben's ceremony and reception were to take place at the beautiful Historic Bleak House in Knoxville at 7pm (Friday, May 15)..... You are about to hear one heck of a story, and it's a great story, one that ends with two people very much in love, united in marriage in front of all of their friends and family - and nothing can beat that! :)
So here we go!
We started the day at the Bakers' house getting ready with the girls.

The girls arrived at the The Bleak House, munched on Twizzlers and admired Brittany's GORGEOUS dress :).

These next two I L-O-V-E!

I'm crazy about this picture! Brittany's mom was awesome. She was really there for her the whole day and I love that she is in so many important shots. If I was Brittany's future child(ren) (God-willing) I would love to see my mother and grandmother like this.

This amazing bouquet was done by Lisa Foster Designs.

Boy and boy posse

And how cute are they??

Loved the details!

(pause) And this is where it started to get kinda crazy... It started raining :( and then thunder and lightning. The ceremony was to start at 7:00 and RSVP was 390! So, we tried to wait it out...

...and the GIRLS prayed,

peeked at guests downstairs,

and tried to find other ways to pass the time - lol!

But the BOYS had other plans. They were busy making phone calls --- to see if there was a church that would let them use their sanctuary.

Thankfully, yes, there was! Calvery Baptist Church, located right next door to the Bleak House, was so, so nice and let and Brittany and Ben use their sanctuary! (It was especially nice of them because they had just finished a rehearsal and were set up for a wedding the next day.) So, the umbrellas started moving next door!

Including Brittany and Mr. Baker... It was crazy when we got there because Brittany was like, "Ok, which way do we go? Where is the sanctuary?"

And this was the best part of the whole day--------
Don't look yet, just let me explain. Brittany was worried the whole day about the weather and the ceremony started about an hour late and all she really wanted was to get married. And so when she saw Ben, she BURST into tears, like she was so happy to see him. It WAS hands-down the sweetest moment I've ever seen at a ceremony. Emotional too, tears were totally running down my face... and I'm sure everyone else there :)

An equally happy groom

Yay! Married! The rain stopped by the time the ceremony was over and the rest of the night was really great!

The scene:

Dan and I are going to start taking dibbs on who plays naughty or nice with the cake cutting. I mean, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. You can have the sweetest couple, like Brittany and Ben, suddenly have an all out war with the cake. OR, you can have the wildest couple give each other the most delicate, sweet bites. I'm betting Tyler and Slate will be cake slammers this weekend ---- we'll see. Oooh, this could be a fun game!... especially if there are prizes involved ;)

Might be my fave of the day

Throwing the bouquet = a fight to get it. Throwing the garter = everyone steps back and sees whose feet it lands in front of - hahaha.

One day my hair is going to catch on fire :)

And finally, Ben had to pop a few balloons before Brittany could get in the car :).
The end! Congrats Brittany and Ben! We love you guys and can't wait to see what you two do next!
