On a whim, Dan and I decided to go on a date and see Phish Wednesday night (apparently along with the rest of Knoxville). THEY WERE GREAT! I heard the show was sold out but we had no problem getting lower level tickets in the parking lot. I brought my point and shoot and thought I'd put some up just for fun.

Haha! And look at that dude's shirt behind me -- lol, what happened to him!?

They had really cool lights and look how many people! There were people all the way up to the very top on the upper level. I have never, ever seen Thompson Boling so crowded. I was pretty much amazed the whole time by how many people were there. I kept trying to zoom out so I could fit them all in there! Ta ta for now!

Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since our last post but it is WEDDING SEASON and we have been super busy taking pictures! This May has been crazy and we can't believe June is already here!  We have so many pictures to share and we can't wait to get everyone's pictures up! Just hang in there!

Now, da, da, da!....Meet Jason & Lauren Bowden! Lauren is a Knoxville girl, Jason is from NC -- they met and live in NYC. Together, Lauren and Jason are probably one of the nicest couples we have the privilege of working with this year and we were just so thrilled to be able to be there for them on their special day.

It was really a blessing to us that we were able to shoot their wedding because we weren't originally scheduled to do so. We were filling in for another photographer who had to cancel a few months earlier. Lauren and Jason's wedding took place on Saturday, May 16. We originally booked May 16 with Brittany and Ben but they decided to switch to the day before, Friday, May 15. So we had the date open for months and we were thinking, hmmm why is this date still open!?

Well apparently it was all meant to be! Their wedding planner Donna Jacob called and we were available!

The photography wasn't the only change Lauren and Jason had to make. If you remember our last post about Brittany and Ben's wedding, you know that it was a crazy weekend for weather in East Tennessee. Lauren and Jason were suppose to be married outdoors under a tent in the courtyard of the Manor House (next to Maple Grove Inn off Westland). But, with the crazy hail and thunderstorms the night before, and the 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms from 2:00 on, they decided to move things indoors the morning of the wedding.

Luckily they had Donna, who flawlessly guided them through several tough decisions. She managed to find them a perfect little white chapel that morning! It was especially perfect because it was located next door to the Manor House so it was easy to guide guests over to the right spot. The 80-something year old minister of Victory Chapel Baptist Church even came over and mowed the lawn just for Lauren and Jason - isn't that so sweet!? Although we were blessed with good weather during the pre-ceremony shots, the thunderstorms hit just after the ceremony --- and if it had been 20 mins earlier, they would have had sideways rain coming through their tent!

Although things didn't happen as they imagined, Lauren and Jason were able to handle every change with a great attitude and the kindness they both possess. I think Lauren and Jason are like two peas in a pod. They have this quiet, sweet demeanor together and you can just tell they treat each other with great care.

So, on to the pics!

Misc. details and events!

Shots of the two of them were a high priority for Lauren and Jason and because of the impending bad weather, they opted to see each other before the ceremony...something else they hadn't planned. This next little series is sweet: This is when they first saw each other. Here is Jason coming around the corner (Lauren thinks he is going to come through a set of doors in front of her).

So happy to see each other!

Fast-forward to the ceremony --- Look at this sweet flower girl! Hmmm, wonder what she's thinking about?
jason_lauren_w2080bweb.jpg
And here she is at the reception too! It's so funny how kids love to dance. Jason & Lauren had The Entice Band and their reception was at Gettysview -  both were great!

Most couples walk really fast through the sparklers (I don't blame them). One thing that stood out to me is that Lauren and Jason walked really slow, saying goodbye and thank you and (Lauren) blowing kisses as they left. They are REALLY nice people :)

The end! We had Cameron, the Maid of Honor, help us with this one!

Your LOVE written in the air with sparklers is too fun! I think I've seen you do this before - it should totally become your "thing!" The photo collage is beautiful as well, but what else should I expect? Everything you and Dan do is amazing! Miss you guys! XOXO

Wow! What an incredible month this has been ---- wonderful couples, beautiful weddings, crazy weather, and fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants wedding day events! We've got tons of wedding and engagement photos to blog in the next few weeks so let's get started on a wedding that encompasses all of the things I just mentioned, the wedding of Brittany Baker and Ben Cudzilo!

Brittany and Ben's ceremony and reception were to take place at the beautiful Historic Bleak House in Knoxville at 7pm (Friday, May 15)..... You are about to hear one heck of a story, and it's a great story, one that ends with two people very much in love, united in marriage in front of all of their friends and family - and nothing can beat that! :)

So here we go!

We started the day at the Bakers' house getting ready with the girls.

The girls arrived at the The Bleak House, munched on Twizzlers and admired Brittany's GORGEOUS dress :).

These next two I L-O-V-E!
ben_brittany_w_0142.tiffweb.jpg
I'm crazy about this picture! Brittany's mom was awesome. She was really there for her the whole day and I love that she is in so many important shots. If I was Brittany's future child(ren) (God-willing) I would love to see my mother and grandmother like this.

This amazing bouquet was done by Lisa Foster Designs.

And how cute are they??
ben_brittany_w_1372cweb.jpg
Loved the details!
ben_brittany_w 1804.tiffweb.jpg
(pause) And this is where it started to get kinda crazy... It started raining :( and then thunder and lightning. The ceremony was to start at 7:00 and RSVP was 390! So, we tried to wait it out...
ben_brittany_w_0721.tiffweb.jpg
...and the GIRLS prayed,
ben_brittany_w_0612.tiffweb.jpg
peeked at guests downstairs,
ben_brittany_w_0683cweb.jpg
and tried to find other ways to pass the time - lol!
ben_brittany_w_0815bweb.jpg
But the BOYS had other plans. They were busy making phone calls --- to see if there was a church that would let them use their sanctuary.
ben_brittany_w 2540b.tiffweb.jpg
Thankfully, yes, there was! Calvery Baptist Church, located right next door to the Bleak House, was so, so nice and let and Brittany and Ben use their sanctuary! (It was especially nice of them because they had just finished a rehearsal and were set up for a wedding the next day.) So, the umbrellas started moving next door!
ben_brittany_w_0914bweb.jpg
Including Brittany and Mr. Baker... It was crazy when we got there because Brittany was like, "Ok, which way do we go? Where is the sanctuary?"
ben_brittany_w_0960.tiffweb.jpg
And this was the best part of the whole day--------
Don't look yet, just let me explain. Brittany was worried the whole day about the weather and the ceremony started about an hour late and all she really wanted was to get married. And so when she saw Ben, she BURST into tears, like she was so happy to see him. It WAS hands-down the sweetest moment I've ever seen at a ceremony. Emotional too, tears were totally running down my face... and I'm sure everyone else there :)
ben_brittany_w_1030.tiffweb.jpg
An equally happy groom
ben_brittany_w_1033.tiffweb.jpg
Yay! Married! The rain stopped by the time the ceremony was over and the rest of the night was really great!

The scene:
ben_brittany_w_3566.tiffweb.jpg
Dan and I are going to start taking dibbs on who plays naughty or nice with the cake cutting. I mean, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. You can have the sweetest couple, like Brittany and Ben, suddenly have an all out war with the cake. OR, you can have the wildest couple give each other the most delicate, sweet bites. I'm betting Tyler and Slate will be cake slammers this weekend ---- we'll see. Oooh, this could be a fun game!... especially if there are prizes involved ;)
ben_brittany_w_1701bweb.jpg
Might be my fave of the day
ben_brittany_w_3808.tiffweb.jpg
Throwing the bouquet = a fight to get it. Throwing the garter = everyone steps back and sees whose feet it lands in front of - hahaha.
ben_brittany_w_3828.tiffweb.jpg
One day my hair is going to catch on fire :)
ben_brittany_w_3923.tiffweb.jpg
And finally, Ben had to pop a few balloons before Brittany could get in the car :).
The end! Congrats Brittany and Ben! We love you guys and can't wait to see what you two do next!
