Happy Friday!!

We just wanted to share a few bridal portraits of one of our favorite brides :)... The super sweet, best-smile ever, free spirit, quirky, amazing petsitter, and now a Texan -- Molly. I'm even more excited to post her wedding, which is coming to this blog soon!! Stay tuned for her fantastic morning wedding and in the meantime we hope everyone has a very happy weekend!
PS -- Check out the bouquet Pat Felts of Clay Pots put together for this bridal session --- so unique! I can't wait to show you what she did for Molly's wedding bouquet, because it is really special!! We've done two weddings with Pat now and her work at both events did not go unnoticed! The other was Katie & Johan's wedding and the bouquet from that event was featured in the Get Married magazine winter edition. Yay Pat!!

First off, y'all are hilarious!! We've had an absolute blast since Christmas meeting with some really fun couples and I swear the engagement stories just keep getting better and better! We've heard everything from guys dropping the rings in the snow to (my favorite) girls finding the ring "by accident while deep cleaning," to the most well thought out plans going totally haywire. Gosh we just love this part of the job: the people, the stories and the excitement of starting something new - something amazing!
Just glance down to our next couple --- Ah, the start of something new, you can just see it on their faces and it almost gives me chill bumps. Oh how we love those sweet little moments like the one below. Meet Paige and John, two amazing people from Chicago we really couldn't be more excited to work with. This spring all of their friends and family will travel to East Tennessee to spend the weekend with Paige and John at the beautiful, amazing Blackberry Farm. We are so excited to document their special event, because it will surely be an incredible time they will never forget.
On our way to Blackberry Farm to do the engagement shoot we literally drove through a hail storm! The whole time we thought we'd have to cancel the shoot due to weather but, since Paige and John were in town from Chicago for such a short amount of time, we kept driving and crossed our fingers for sun. I am learning more and more to never say never because as soon we arrived at Blackberry the clouds parted and we were able to do just what we came for.
Here are a few of our faves! Enjoy!

Thanks Paige and John for being so great! We can't wait to see you in April!

Getting something new up on the blog is always on my mind. I remember the days when my mom was literally the only person who checked this blog and now Dan tells me we have thousands of different viewers per month from all over the world! That's a lot of people I'd hate to disappoint! So with it being Christmas week I've been fretting over what to post next -- should I finally blog one of the big huge weddings I've been stashing away? (Get excited yall!) Or maybe a conglomeration of family shoots, maybe another engagement shoot? But instead of getting anything up I've been letting the days pass by with the little stuff, getting print orders out before Christmas, submitting photos to contests, selfishly relishing in ending the season (last weekend we shot our last wedding before the baby comes (!! :)), and just enjoying the week of Christmas. And who can blame anyone for doing just that!?!?
I just wanted to mention a few things before we sign out for the holidays. I know so, so, so many people have gotten and are getting engaged this week!! THAT IS AMAZING!! If you love photography, and it's one of the most important parts of your wedding, Dan and I would love, love to talk to you about your wedding. We have about 8-10 slots left for 2011. If you would like to set up a time to meet, just send us an email and/or for Knoxville people, we will be at the Knoxville Premier Bridal show on Sunday January 9. If you are newly engaged in Knoxville that is definitely one event you won't want to miss!

We hope everyone has an amazing Christmas and we'll be back with a bang after the New Year!!!
Here are some photos from the last year we submitted for competition.
One of my all time favorites!! Brigitte & Travis in route to their reception in the limo. It was a winter wedding, almost dark outside and the two groomsmen were trying to mind their own business :) This went in a candids category...

Another all time favorite (I have a feeling I might be saying that for all of these!) and another for the candids category. This is from Bailee & Reggie's awesome wedding -- I just love the look on her face and her bridesmaid's face -- this is right after she put her dress on.

Ok, another favorite. To us there is just *something* about this photo that we love. We think it communicates what it's like in those real moments just before the ceremony. The sister buttoning the dress, the pensiveness, anticipation, excitement, nervousness... Also just the sheer number of bridesmaids makes this one interesting - 13, definitely the largest wedding party we had all year. I love getting ready. Click here to see more of Rebecca & Seth's amazing Nashville wedding!!

Ahh!! This is from Erin & Ryan's wedding. Erin is seated and her bridesmaids are standing around her, saying a prayer before the ceremony. Simple. Love it! Erin & Ryan are here...

All of the above photos were entered in a Candids category and the next 4 went into a portraits category.
Nate & Ashley! Love, love this couple.... in fact I absolutely adore all the couples below :) and above!
Ashley and Nate were just sooooo cute! All smiles, all day, just how we like it!

Bailee & Reggie - Check out these links if you have time, these weddings are so fun!

Oooh, this is one you haven't seen yet!!! Shhhh...forget you saw it because I'm submitting this wedding to different things and when I finally post it on our blog we're going to do it in like three parts -- Shhh! -- love, love, love it!! The wedding of my close personal friends, Michelle & Christopher!

And something else you haven't seen!! A portrait from a really fun bridal shoot and wedding you haven't seen -- Molly & Caleb. Can't wait to post this one either! Molly and her baby sweetheart Lulabelle :)

This shot went in the details category -- my favorite 'detail' of the whole year. Flowers and boots from my friends Lindsey & James' wedding!!
And that's it! We've gotta get cookin'! My whole family is going to be at my house in 2 hours for Christmas Eve brunch :). Yikes!! Hope everyone has a great day and Merry Christmas!!!

Michelle Lyerly says:
Katarina, if you are reading this...only eight slots!!! JK! Nat, I have always loved that first picture. Very classic and beautiful. Can't wait to see my pics on here one day ;)

Thank you Watsons. You are a delight. So glad to have such talented pohtographers and, now, nice neighbors. We were blessed to have your skills and talents for this fun time of celebration.
Gorgeous bride!!! I love the feel of these. The one of her picking up the dog is my favorite. Great job!
I knew my sister was gorgeous, but WOW! These photos are amazing.
