It's May! and ahhhh, love is in the air!! It's wedding, weddings, weddings these next 10 weekends for us and we're so pumped about all of the amazing couples we are working with! Like these two... Meet Cassie and Ben who are getting married this June! Their wedding was the last wedding we booked for the spring and we didn't get to do their engagment shoot before I was majorly (majorly) pregnant... so we worked it out that Dan would do their shoot by himself just before we had Wyatt... and...whoa, here are the results -- I guess I'm not needed anymore!! I just love these pics -- great job Cassie, Ben & Dan ;)

Lyndsey & Stevan winter engagement photos

While we are loving this special time with baby Wyatt and still somewhat on a "Baby Break," we shot our first wedding of the season last weekend at Blackberry Farm and are slowly starting to gear up for an unbelievably busy and exciting year! Thanks so much for your patience the past few weeks if you've been checking our blog and seeing...well, nothing new. But before y'all get too bored or start wondering if we're still alive we've decided... the blogging is back on!... even if it's just a few pics here and there. So start checking again, regularly :).

So to start off, here is a shoot we did this winter! (Just so you know we have loads of unblogged material so don't be surprised when we pull something out of season... we're just trying to keep y'all on your toes you know! ;)) While most people prefer something other than winter for engagement pics, we think it can be a great time of year for photos. To make it work, all you need is a gorgeous setting like one of our favorites in East Tennessee, Cade's Cove, a pretty day, and a fabulous and wonderful couple to work with! Meet Lyndsey and Stevan, who both serve our country in the Armed Forces. WoW right!?! Thank you Lyndsey and Stevan for all that you do for our country..... and for the great engagement shoot of course!!

OMGoodness we're parents!!

If you've been wondering where we've been lately, well... we've been taking care of some pretty important business :). Wyatt Daniel Watson was born on March 28, 2011 and we couldn't love him more!!

Sometimes I seriously feel like a teenage girl in love! I could stare at him all day & night and write his name in cursive over and over in my spare time. Already he is the most special, wonderful thing and I could seriously tear up just writing about it!

So anyways, we just wanted to quickly share some photos from over the last two weeks. Everyone says "Oh this is going to be the most photographed kid ever" but so far I think we've done a horrible job! He's only two weeks old and he's changing so fast!! And, we've only gotten to do one little formal shoot with him. More than half of the pics below were taken with our phones?!?!

But we do have this shot below, the most special picture of all to me, taken by my wonderful mother, (who is a fabulous photographer in her own right and will be on cloud 9 that I just said that). This is in the delivery room right after he was born. The doctor immediately put him on my chest and this is the moment that I am seeing him for the first time and he's crying and I'm crying and Dan is looking at us and I'm talking to him and -- ahh -- it's just magic!

I was sooo excited about doing some newborn pics. I ordered the cutest knit hat from Etsy and all I wanted was one of those cute, balled up sleeping pics. But as it turns out... Wyatt is not that cooperative a model. Every time we tried he was suddenly wide awake and not wanting to be naked... and of course we say, "Ok, let's try later" since we can... but I'm afraid we may have missed the boat on those as he's already two weeks old (best time to do newborn pics is within the first 10 days). But I do like the one we got below... he looks like a sweet little angel - and kind of like a little alien. I think he is going to look like Dan, which is what I always wanted. The end... Congratulations! He's beautiful. We're expecting our second little boy in September. I know all about how difficult it is to actually take photos of your own newborn. I remember trying ALL DAY once to get just one good family pic of us with Hayden, but he just wasn't having it. Maybe we should trade photographer duties some time and get some family photos :)
